François, abbé ROZIER (1734-1793), agronomist and botanist. - Lot 120
François, abbé ROZIER (1734-1793), agronomist and botanist. Autograph letter signed to Doctor Gérard, Cottignac. 1 p. ½ in-4. Lyon, January 18, 1770. Beautiful letter about the botanical garden he has just created on Fourvière hill. "I gave up the direction of the Veterinary School [...] a year ago. The garden I had built there now contains only a few common plants. I formed another one in the center of the city and in the most brilliant exposure, it is on the middle of the Fourvière hill. Two friends and I cultivate foreign plants with zeal only because we know those of the country [...]. Please contribute to increasing our wealth [...]".
