CARTA EXECUTORIA DE HIDALGUIA EN POSON Y PROPR. A PEDIMIENTO - Lot 132
CARTA EXECUTORIA DE HIDALGUIA EN POSON Y PROPR. A PEDIMIENTO DE JUAN DE Y MENDIAVIZ DELLA VILLA DE FONCEA. Valladolid, June 1620. In folio of 61 handwritten leaves on vellum, bronze morocco, triple gilt border on the boards, central decoration composed of a large rosette and fans in the corners, smooth spine, thick cordon fixed with a large lead seal decorated on both sides with the arms of Philip IV and his representation on the throne. (Period binding). Letters of Spanish nobility. Neat manuscript with numerous signatures, calligraphy on vellum with black frame on each page and decorated with some names placed in colored bands. The first leaf is decorated with a large painting with a couple kneeling before the Virgin, the whole placed above the family coat of arms and protected by a pink silk leaf. It was executed in 1620 and is a perfect example of the Aragonese noble manuscripts of that period. It is covered with an EXTRAORDINARY BAROQUE BINDING in full leather with rollers, rosettes and fans like the so-called "A la Fanfare" bindings, with the seal preserved, which is rare. Several small damages to the binding.
