Engageante in Argentan, needle, France, circa 1740-60. Decorated with eight cartouches with Argentella background decorated with a branch of flowers, the fourth and eighth cartouches with the same branches, the others in mirror, scalloped mesh network. Light ivory linen. Dim. 1,08 m x 8,5 cm Good general condition, some small stains scattered. We join a border cut in Alençon or Argentan with needle, with delicate floral decoration and fine rivers decorated with small square modes rarely used in the Norman laces of this period.
