Rare panel with grapes, spindles, Brussels, circa 1715-20. Dress front (?) or panel, illustrated on page 132 of Mrs. Emily Reigate's book "An Illustrated Guide to Lace". In cream-coloured linen with a dynamic composition of soft palms decorated with various dots, bunches of grapes with fleshy berries, foliage and flowers in full bloom, the motifs linked by a belt of fine picoté straps, each end finished with a narrow lace of the same technique. Dim. 1,75 m x 61 cm. Good condition, rare pale stains. See "Lace a History" Mrs. Santina M. Levey Fig.254 and 319
