King's bodyguard's giberne case, Noailles company, model 1814. Wooden case with seven cartridge slots, covered with leather, with a two-compartment pocket on the front and a one-piece loop on the back. The bottom is embroidered with a silver thread net, with three brass fasteners, one in the middle for the shoulder strap and two for the strap. Pattelette bordered by a brass rush decorated with the line (remains of silvering, misses the upper rush) in leather covered with royal blue cloth with silver pattern with the sun shining on the face of Phoebus, symbol of unity (accident to two rays). 18 x 11 x 5.5 cm JCD E.M. (Misses to the sheet, traces of insects to the cartridge case). 1st Restoration period. Provenance : HERVE du PENHOAT family. Bibliography : Michel PETARD, " Equipements militaires de 1600 à 1870 ", Volume VII, 1990. p. 60 and 66 to 69. We find some variations compared to our giberne, in particular the single loop (instead of being in two parts).
