Very important gilt bronze "à l'Inspiration" clock representing a love dictating a letter to a seated young woman. The figures surmount an edifice decorated with foliage, a ewer and a three-legged element with a claw and a ram's head. The rectangular base with curved sides presents a frieze representing nymphs dancing a love, the whole on four claw feet with palmettes. Empire period Total height approx. 52 cm - Total length 37,5 cm - D. approx. 15 cm BL The dial and the hands probably changed. Misses and accidents. Slight chips around a winding hole.
