Beautiful gilt bronze clock decorated with a woman in antique costume draped leaning against a simulated bookcase topped by the dial surrounded by two large acanthus leaves and race of roses. The enamelled dial signed Robert ROBIN (1742-1799), "H. du Roy et de Madame / Paris". The rectangular base with mouldings of water leaves and applied to the centre of a helmeted profile in the old style between two busts of lovers: one a painter, the other a writer. Beautiful foliage feet with scrolls. Hanging wire Empire period H. 43 cm BL Chips around the winding holes. Missing the glass of the rear window. Without balance wheel
