[Manuscrit - Philosophie]- - Lot 452
[Manuscrit - Philosophie]- Philosophia pars prima seu logica. One vol. small in-4°, 233 leaves, brown basane, spine gilt, marbled edges (late 17th/early 18th binding). Hinge cracked, top cover missing, corners dulled. The manuscript title has been placed in a rich engraved frame and an engraving of St Thomas Aquinas signed La Vve Moncornet (Balthasar Moncornet's wife?) has been bound in. The text in Latin, on laid paper, is presented in a tight, legible writing. It is clearly hierarchical and complete for the Logica part. At the end the mention Finis totius logica domini Cohade. It could be the philosophy course of Paul de Cohade (1637 - 1726), Dominican, professor of philosophy at the Du Plessis College, doctor at the Sorbonne. This hypothesis is supported by the presence of the portrait of St Thomas Aquinas, also a Dominican. Cf. his ex libris
