Probably Lyon, end of the 16th century - beginning of the 17th century H. 205 cm - W. 178 cm - D. 60 cm Restorations and PFD shortages If from the point of view of their structures, the two-body cupboards made in Lyon from the 16th century onwards were generally inspired by the engravings of Jacques Androuet du Cerceau (1515-1585), the sources of the decorative repertoire are to be found in Italy. One finds on this piece of furniture panels representing typical architectures of the cabinets of Florence as well as trophies of arms evoking the engravings of Enée Vico (1523-1567). A panel depicting similar trophies of arms is now kept in the Ecouen museum. There is also a comparable decoration on an engraving by du Cerceau representing a sideboard (J. Thirion, Le Mobilier du moyen-âge et de la Renaissance en France, Dijon, 1998, p. 173).
