Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904), maître verrier, fondateur de l'Écol - Lot 110
Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904), maître verrier, fondateur de l'École de Nancy L.A. written on the back of his business card "Émile Gallé Maître Verrier", addressed to his patron Henri Cazalis dit Jean Lahor. 1 p. in-32. Beautiful letter full of poetry. "With his wishes of happiness E. Gallé offers to Dr. Cazalis the expression of his worried memory and a drunken soul. For many months he has had the extreme desire to unravel, if possible, the misguided skein of postal misunderstandings and to regain the subtle thread that the poet "Jean Lahor..." once spun from the deep blue. What vague Indies have taken over this God of mystery, what tower of clouds? By what climbing of the air, what wings, what suspended threads, what obedience of the spark, will the glassmaker send his message to who is perhaps only an aeolian voice? In other words, to what not improbable address could he entrust the image of the Grail loved for a moment this summer? Many thanks to the good doctor..."
