[Boris VIAN]. Michel GAST - Lot 59
[Boris VIAN]. Michel GAST I will spit on your graves (1959). 1 volume in-4 bound full red cloth with title label on spine. Typescript text with countless notes, additions and corrections. The script is enriched with 33 original photographs of actors, technicians, sets, film crew hobbies, etc. Bound or headed side documents (shooting plans and schedule, handwritten costume details for each of the actors (9 pp.), etc.). The script that killed Boris Vian Very controversial filming directed by Michel Gast and Bernard Paul. The screenplay was to be written by Boris Vian himself and Jacques Dopagne, but the writer very quickly disapproved of the adaptation made of his novel. He fought the producers, publicly denounced the heresy of rewriting his book and eventually had his name removed from the credits. On June 23, 1959, Vian reluctantly agreed to attend the premiere of J'irai cracher sur vos tombes at the Marbeuf cinema. Just a few minutes after the screening began, he collapsed and died of a heart attack in the projection room. Provenance: Geneviève Cortier, scripte de cinéma.
