REVUE DU LYONNAIS. Historical and literary... - Lot 404 - De Baecque et Associés
REVUE DU LYONNAIS. Historical and literary review. Lyon, 1835-1924. 129 VOLUMES in-8, half brown basane, smooth spine (period binding). The most famous of Lyon's reviews. Created in 1835 by Léon Boitel, it was interrupted in 1849 to be replaced by the Revue Lyonnaise. It reappeared in 1850; in 1853 the magazine was taken over by A. Vingtrinier, Boitel's successor. It was then interrupted between 1880 and 1887 (Lyon-Revue took its place during this interruption), and then reappeared with Mougins-Rusand until the end of 1901. It was published by Audin from 1921 to 1924. Very much appreciated by researchers for all the information written by Lyon's 19th century scholars, it is also sought after by art lovers for the numerous etchings and lithographs it contains. This RARE COMPLETE COLLECTION bears the bookplate of J. Tricou who had bought the Vachez collection. Numerous receipts signed by Boitel and Vingtrinier, enclosed with it, attest that he was the first subscriber. Also attached is a photocopied in-4° volume of tables written by Tricou, from the origins to 1899. Good overall condition, the collection of Lyon-Revue is in half green basane.
