The Capture of Namur, tablecloth of a service in historiated linen damask, Kortrijk, ca. 1695. Table service celebrating the victory over the French of the armies of William III and his ally Maximilian of Bavaria in 1695. In the upper part, the arms of Bavaria and England surmounting the two victorious princes represented on horseback, one holding a sword and the second a staff. Below, the citadel of Namur fortified by Vauban surrounded by cannons and a troop of infantrymen, on the lower part, the king and generals assembled around a table covered with a carpet bearing the inscription Namur.
