In-folio half green morocco with corners, spine decorated with small golden trees (period binding). This luxurious work is adorned with a charming vignette engraved by Percier and 145 engraved and delicately coloured PLATES, of which 52 ARE DRAWN BY PIERRE-JOSEPH REDOUTE, each protected by a silk serpente. The first two volumes, illustrated respectively: Volume 1. 254 pages and 78 plates: Gooseberry (2), vine (1), cuckoo (1), pomegranate (2), pistachio (1), mulberry (1), almond (2), quince (3), medlar (3), walnut (2), fig (7), cherry (20), olive (8), apricot (4), plum (10), peach (8), raspberry-brush (2), quince (1). Volume 2. 226 pages and 67 plates: Apple tree (14), pear tree (20), lemon tree (21), vine (12). Pages and plates foxed and pitted at edges. Small scratches on the spine and on the boards.
