Fragments of a book of hours on vellum of Italian origin, from the first half of the 15th century. The first volume consists of the Office of the Virgin according to the Roman custom, the second of the Psalms of Penitence and Litany of the Saints. At the beginning of each hour of the Office, with the exception of sexte, a large painted initial with marginal extensions of large foliage scrolls and brightly coloured flowers. The initial of folio 1, rather rubbed, represents a Virgin and Child, the other six a stylized flower. The first leaf of the psalms is decorated with a large historiated initial representing a nimbed figure holding a book, with a marginal frame of foliage and flowers.
