BIBLIA cum concordantiis veteris et novi testamentis [...]. (Impressa autem Lugduni, per M. Jacobum Sacon. Expensis notabilis viri Antonii Koberger Nurembergensis, 1516 die 17 mensis decembris). In gothic folio with 2 columns of [14]-317-1bl.-[25] folios, cold-stamped calf, wooden ais sowed with small flowers (poppies?) in a latticework decoration (binding of the time). Precious copy of this illustrated bible from the beginning of the 16th century. It is the first of the five Bibles printed by Jacques Sacon in Lyon between 1516 and 1522 on behalf of the famous printer of Nuremberg, Antoine Koberger; it is dated December 17, 1516 with the great mark of Sacon, reproduced by Baudrier (XII, 309). The title, printed in red and black, is adorned with a large wood representing Saint John the Baptist, two others on the full page show the six days of creation and the adoration of the Magi, and finally, a wood engraved halfway down the page represents King Solomon asleep". The large vignette of the title representing St John the Baptist was later passed on to Corneille de Septgranges and was used by this printer in the missal of Lyon in 1556. 3 suites of vignettes, 2 rectangular ones and a smaller one for the gospels . " (Harness). "The figures of this edition were engraved after those of the Bible of Venice, 1498, in-4°; they are found in several reprints of the same Bible made in Lyon, in particular in that of 1516, impressa Lugduni, per M. Jacobum Sacon, expensis notabilis viri Anthonii Koberger, en 1516, le 16 décembre, in-folio". (Brunet). The text is decorated with 3 suites of vignettes, one of which is placed in Renaissance frames, (83 x 65 mm) and 1 smaller one (41 x 60 mm), for the gospels, the whole totalling 89 +23+29 or 141 fine small woodcuts. Very numerous handwritten annotations of the period, old restorations at the binding, a restored leaf in the margin without lack of text. Ex libris André Cade, doctor from Lyon. (Baudrier XII,
