China, 18th/19th century Reclining deer in transparent-glazed porcelain, legs bent, coat incised, brown glaze on the antlers and remaining brown glaze on the coat. H 18 ; W 27.5 cm Wood ends missing (with repaints), left hind leg restored with brown repaints (imitating fur). Originally, it would have been entirely enameled on the cover, to represent its brown coat speckled with white.
