Ôtagaki Rengetsu (1791-1875) Painting (ink and color on paper) depicting a teapot and two cups, with a waka poem in cursive calligraphy on the left, signed "Rengetsu" in the teapot, mounted on paper in a vertical roll, the jiku-saki in bamboo. Folds and wear (the frame torn and with a hole). H. 29.5 cm - L. 35 cm H. 74 cm - W. 42 cm A Buddhist nun, Ôtagaki Rengetsu is best known as one of the great Japanese poets of the 19th century.
