STRASBOURG, 18th century Twelve vermeil fruit knives, embossed with a coat of arms, handles with flanks, fillets and shells. - Four bear the arms of a member of the Ribeyre family (Auvergne). Strasbourg, 1768 (letter R) - For eight with the coat of arms of Claude de Chazerat (1729-1824) and his wife née Gilberte Rollet de Mirabel (1732-1805). Strasbourg, 1787-1788 For the twelve, Master-Smith: Imlin. Gross weight: 871 g BL Claude de Chazerat, comte de Lezoux, was the last intendant of Auvergne, an important province in Old Regime France. In 1750, he married Gilberte Rollet de Mirabel, who gave him the Château de Mirabel near Riom as a dowry. He built a townhouse in Clermont-Ferrand, famous for its oval courtyard punctuated with antique-style pilasters in Volvic stone, which now houses the Cultural Department of the Auvergne region.
