Lyon - [CHAPPUZEAU (Samuel)]. Lyon in its... - Lot 289 - De Baecque et Associés
Lyon - [CHAPPUZEAU (Samuel)]. Lyon in its lustre. Lyon, Scipion Lasserne, 1656. Small in-4° of [16]-112 pages, brown granite calf, spine with nerves (period binding). This rare volume opens with a remarkable frontispiece depicting a map of the city inscribed on the body of a lion in a frame of oak leaves; the city hall occupies the background of the engraving which is signed Claudine Brunaud. The frontispiece, of larger justification than the volume, is reached at the head. Scattered foxing (Saffroy, II, 28241). Restorations to the spines.
