With the foundations of abbeys, priories, chartreuses & collegiate churches, origin of towns, chateaux, seigneuries & main fiefs & genealogies of all noble families... Divided into four parts... A Lyon, chez Jean Antoine Huguetan & Marc Ant. Ravaud, 1650. in-folio of [32]-133-[3]-113-[3]-[8]-399-[3]-2bl.-253-[35]-259 pages, red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated, double framing of 3 fillets in the Du Seuil style on the boards, corner fleurons, arms in the centre, gilt edges (binding of the time) First edition decorated with nearly 170 large coats of arms. It is the most important work for the history of Bresse and surrounding countries. "Esteemed work of which the copies are rare" (Brunet II, 1807). (Saffroy, n°19160). PRECIOUS EXEMPLAIRE IN MAROQUIN WITH THE ARMS OF "LA TOUVIERE, seigneurs de Beauvoir et de Peyrieu", a family from Bugey. (cf. Révérend du Mesnil, Armorial de Bresse, II, p. 658). Discrete restorations to the corners, arms rubbed, stained boards, the endpapers are missing.
