SOMME - PICARDIE. Private archives of Louis-Alexandre vicomte BLIN DE BOURDON (Amiens 1782-1849), legitimist deputy of the Somme (1815-1849), he was also mayor of Amiens (1816-1817). Set of 2 boxes containing several hundred documents, mainly letters from the first half of the 19th century. This untidy archive, which deserves to be classified, consists, for the most part, of correspondence between Louis-Alexandre Blin de Bourdon and his wife Marie-Charlotte-Ursule Le Fort du Quesnel (1782-1833), from the time of the First Empire. A number of letters are addressed to his wife (at the château de Raisincourt or the château du Quesnel), to his son Charles Blin de Bourdon (1809-1869), who was mayor of Le Quesnel and general councilor of the canton of Moreuil; and some to his grandson Raoul Blin de Bourdon (1837-1940), a traveler and politician. Among the notable letters, 7 L.A.S. (+1 P.A.S.) from the Count of CHAMBORD (+ 3 copies), 1 L.A.S. from the Duchess of BERRY (Gratz 1836), accompanied by a letter in sympathetic ink authorizing Blin de Bourdon to take "all the measures he will believe useful to the interests of Henri V" (Massa Feb. 1, 1832), a letter from Philippe de Bourdon (Massa Feb. 1, 1832), a letter from the Duchess of BERRY (Massa Feb. 1, 1832) and a letter from the Duchess of BERRY (Massa Feb. 1, 1832). 1832), a letter from Philip Count of PARIS, a plenary indulgence signed by PIE IX in favour of Viscount Blin de Bourdon, etc. It also contains letters from Berryer, the mayor of Amiens, Jacques de Rougé, Louis de Sambucy, family letters from Louis-Charles to his father, documents on the candidacy of Jacques Laffitte in Amiens, etc. There is also a facsimile of Marie-Antoinette's will, preserved in an envelope with a note in Blin de Bourdon's handwriting: "Testament de la Reine. Purchased at the Passage Montesquiou", engraved portraits of Blin de Bourdon, political and biographical printed matter, a set of photographs in visiting card format (and cabinet) of the main members of the family (in multiples), an envelope containing locks of hair of various members of the family, another containing silhouettes, plaster medallions representing Blin de Bourdon, two seal dies with the family coat of arms, a notebook of drawings (landscapes), the diary of a trip to Scotland (1857), etc.
