JURA. Archive contained in 8 boxes, containing several hundred handwritten documents, mainly from the 18th century. Documents in the form of bundles or disordered, rather dusty on the whole. Important archive based on several families of Lons-le-Saunier, including magistrates, the Villermots (one is a prosecutor at the bailliage and presiding seat in Lons-le-Saunier), the Deleschaux family, including Désiré, a lawyer at the Parliament and former mag. of the city of Lons-le-Saunier, etc. Very numerous procedural acts, summonses, orders, acquisitions, memoirs, leases, lawsuits, marriage contracts, inventories, conventions, requests, letters, etc. Examples: "Answer of Mr. Deleschaux to the memorandum addressed to Mrs. Grivel's heirs by Mr. Breney priest", "inventory of the papers which are enclosed in the small chest" (35 pp.). Some documents are older: "purchase by decree of several funds in the territory of Nogna" (1564), division of the goods of Denys Mercier (1626, about 80 pp.), etc. It also contains songs, political reflections, poetry, personal correspondence from the 19th century, a register of expenses kept in Lons-le-Saunier from 1771 to 1775 (about 150 pp. folio), etc. Very important set concerning Lons-le-Saunier in the 18th century.
