Semi-globular cup with flat bottom Huari Culture, Peru Middle Horizon, 600 - 900 A.D. Wood H. 9.5 cm - W. 9.5 cm Decorated in high relief on the flanks of the deity Ai-Apaec represented standing holding in his left hand an axe and in his right hand a sceptre decorated with snake heads. The rest of the decoration represents a mythological scene made up of human profiles and anthropo-zoomorphic deities. Visible accidents. Provenance: Galerie Bernard, Ramatuelle, 1970's.
