Ivory vellum, red and green title and tomaison piece in a frame of gilt pallets, gilt fleuron in the centre, red edges. Binding from the
19th century. French and Italian text
Less than ten years after the French conquest, the King ordered the publication of this set over nearly fourteen years. As
Jean-Yves Coppolani pointed out, it is especially in the first seven volumes that we find the 287 texts concerning Corsica. Because of the extent of the dates of publication, the complete sets of the 16 volumes are extremely rare.
Apart from a few freckles, most of the time very light, we report only the most visible defects of this set which has kept all its freshness.
T1: the title has been reassembled and doubled, weak stitching at the beginning of the flight. T 2: weak stitching. T 3: Small restoration on the back. burnished. T 15: Scroll at the bottom of qq. ff. T 16: russet at
