This theme of the young girl styling herself, treated many times by Joseph Bernard, gives the artist, who is in love with feminine beauty, the opportunity to sublimate its plastic canons through her refined and synthetic style. Close in its composition to the Young Girl sitting at her toilet, the work offers to see a vibrant and graceful composition. In its initial format (H. 102 cm), the work executed in Asian marble was intended to be part of an enclosed space and "to evoke the intimacy of a peaceful state".
